Anastasios Tantsis is an Associate Professor in the Department of History and Archeology at
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an alternate member of the Αdministrative Board of
European Centre for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Monuments (EKBMM). He received his
Diploma in Architecture in 1997 and a Ph.D. in Byzantine Archaeology in 2008 both from
AuTH. He was a IKY scholarship recipient during his studies and an International Visiting
Scholar at UIUC, USA for 2005-2007. He is participating in the University Excavation of
Philippi and Mochlos of Sitia and also teaching at the Postgraduate Program of Protection,
Conservation and Restoration of the Faculty of Engineering.
