Fotini has studied archaeology at the Universities of Athens and Birmingham. She works on
Byzantine and Frankish spatial practices, community building and the material culture of
Byzantine non-elites. Her research project Inhabiting Byzantine Athens relies on the
Athenian Agora Excavations’ legacy data and deals with city-making processes and the role
of ordinary people as city-makers.
