Natalia has studied archaeology in the University of Athens and received her Ph.D. from the
Université Paris I-Panthéon Sorbonne. She is the director of the excavations of the University
of Thessaloniki in Philippi and in Mochlos (Crete). She is the president of the administrative
board of the European Centre for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Monuments. Her research
focuses on maritime routes and communication in the Aegean, byzantine architecture,
pottery and material culture of early and middle byzantine period.
